One Step Closer
August 21, 2020
Even in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Schmitz family has been busy! They are hard at work in Matagalpa, Nicaragua, constructing a school building. It is their hope and prayer that that they will be approved to run a high school in the coming year while they wait for the land purchase to be legally finalized for their church plant.
Funds, in part from Deep Water, were paid for the land purchase in May. The last of the legal paperwork has now been delivered, so please pray against any governmental hindrances that may come against the purchase from being fully realized by the end of this month. This will allow for the planning and fundraising stage and get them so much closer to breaking ground on the actual church structure.
The family also gratefully requests prayer for health and safety for the family and the Las Colinas Elementary School staff and students. A world away, they are facing the same pandemic we are here in Nova Scotia, and the same uncertainty about the future.
One of Deep Water’s three key objectives through ReachOut is building churches, both locally and abroad. This church is early in their process, and they need us all the more to join with them and support them as they work to bring a house of worship to our Nicaraguan family.
